On the front of this two color, double sided International Driving Permit card, there is room for a photo, personal information and a signature. Underneath the personal information it states: This permit is valid for motor vehicles used for the transport of passengers, comprising at most eight seats, or those used for the transport of goods and having a permissible maximum weight not exceeding 3,500Kg. (7,700lbs.) Vehicles in this category may be coupled with a light trailer. It is understood that this permit shall in NO WAY affect the obligation of the holder to conform to the laws and regulations in force in each country he travels. This identification is NOT VALID in the United States and on the reverse side of this card, there is also a NOTICE stating: This permit may be presented in 161 contracting and independent countries. Some countries may require a special registration fee be paid in addition to possession of permit.
