The CIA now admits that it conducted mind control experiment in the 1950s and 1960s on both volunteers and innocent unwitting subjects. The project was driven by fears of Manchurian Candidate like brain washing being used by the Russians and North Koreans on U.S. P.O.W.s. We will never know all the sordid details, but LSD was used as well as other drugs. The 3.5 purple, white and black patch is definitely a piece of cold war history.
